Spiritual Mentoring
I currently teach in the Spiritual Mentoring Certificate program at Atlantic University, and have spent my whole life studying spirituality, religious experiences, and dreams, and have written several books on religious experience.

Upon that foundation, I provide spiritual mentoring with an emphasis on meditation and dream work as supplementary practices. I feel that I well aware of how important it is to have a spiritual companion and witness on the most important journey you can ever take, and have had my own mentors through my life. People often ask me if I am Christian. After taking a deep breath, knowing what that might mean to them, I say, "yes," even though my understanding of what it means to be a Christian includes acceptance of other religions. C. S. Lewis once said, "We are told that everyone must come to God through Christ. But we are not told how that is to happen." Now that's humble, isn't it? And when it comes to belief, I like the response that Carl Jung once made when an interviewer asked him if he believed in God. He smiled and said, "No. I know. I know."

What is important to me is to be loving and inclusive of other people, not weighing them against some doctrine or belief. I have engaged in deep prayer and meditation every day of my adult life, all with the singular aim to know God, rather than simply to believe. I am as comfortable in an ashram as I am a church, and I have studied Buddhism and Hinduism with great interest and deep respect. In fact, there was a time in my life when I thought that Christianity was unimportant, and that my fulfillment could be found in Eastern religions. But it was at that point that I had my first encounter with Jesus in a deep dream. It was quite real to me. That changed my life, and I have written several books on Christian religious experiences. But regardless of my own spiritual journey, I still welcome people of all faiths into a mentoring relationship. With that in mind, if you are interested in spiritual mentoring with someone like me, I am available in person, by phone, or via Skype. Please
contact me and let me know of your interest, and we can arrange an initial exploratory phone call.
